Mini-league: International Albany

This is for you who was in Albany as a student and who might have heard of the infamous Inter-A side, or the poor you who never really went to Albany and was emailed by a bunch of strangers with a very twisted idea of fun.

Not only do I have to congratulate Italy for winning this WC, I also have to express how impressed I am with your performance in the prediction game. Pity our former Albany Inter-A squad and friends weren't here to see it. Next world cup, perhaps... who knows.
July 7, 2006 at 16:32,   pedromalard said: Man, 30 points clear. How embarrassing... I thought this, like the last world cup, would be a world cup for the underdogs... i was very wrong.
July 6, 2006 at 08:03,   Chris said: No way you are going to catch me anymore!!!!!!!
July 3, 2006 at 17:29,   Chris said: for the semis
July 3, 2006 at 17:28,   Chris said: A long as anybody wins byt France I am happy. If Italy were to face France in the Finals the game would be really boaring, since they both play in the same manner. Naturally I would be happy if we could massacre the French in the finals, but Germany is playing at home at that will make a huge difference for moral.
July 3, 2006 at 17:26,   Chris said: looks like you are giving Eugene, the black knight, a good beating in the email exchange...I'm nearly afraid to enter the conversation at this point since you are all so aggressive. ciao
July 2, 2006 at 11:41,   pedromalard said: Chris, your lead here is so solid that it cannot be beaten. Japan beating Italy? Not that impossible, considering the last world cup and Italy's defeat to S. Korea in the second round. Can't complain much myself, because Brazil was pretty luck not to have met strong opposition before the QFs. We might have made it to the semis, had we played against the Ukranians, but we would probably struggle to get past the first round if we had landed in the group the Argies were in. Good luck to you against Germany, and good luck to Portugal.
June 28, 2006 at 09:29,   Chris said: Really I am nearly insulted to see Italy being beaten by Japan? What prediction was that?
June 27, 2006 at 15:47,   Chris said: 63 points and in position 912. Doing pretty darn good in this game. We are some really lucky bastards regarding last night's game! Che CULO (lucky ass) che abbiamo avuto!!
June 26, 2006 at 08:29,   Chris said: Sorry, have not been watching the games since thursday night. I went to our Italy's "Jericocoara" (an hour from my house) on lake garda. There is 1 TV in the entire village and there is 1 newspaper stand. In other words I have managed to relax alot since there is nothing to do but sleep, eat, kitesurf and chase German girls all day. Nice to see Robson woke up and started writing on this mini forum (Welcome). Catch you all later. Gotto work and watch Italy tonight. ciao
June 26, 2006 at 01:36,   pedromalard said: I saw the message later, Chris, and I'll be joining the madness. You're in the lead, but I've guessed Portugal would be through to the QFs.
June 26, 2006 at 01:35,   pedromalard said: Come to Belo, Robson. I might be able to go to Sao Paulo to see you, depending on how long you're here.
June 23, 2006 at 08:29,   robson said: i dont have your phone, my is 11 4071 9371, 9828 21 94.. let's talk maybe i could visit you in Belo.
June 23, 2006 at 08:28,   robson said: hey guys .. it seems i haven't been that good in predictions, well but i'm sure that at least the winner i choose right, the way now is easy, and Australia will do the job that USA haven't done. By the way, Pedro i got some time of work and i'm flying to Brasil this morning.. i wanna see Brasil win the sixth world cup at home.
June 23, 2006 at 07:27,   Chris said: Oh, I'm still in the lead here !!!!:p
June 23, 2006 at 07:26,   Chris said: I saw Senad's email and I wasn't sure how to answer at first. To be or not to be a bastard, then I thought it might be best to pursue a softer tone, but you really pulled out of your head an open invitation to be insulted, nearly by everyone. Naomi's going to get a heart attack when she opens the email!
June 22, 2006 at 22:34,   pedromalard said: I haven't received any insulting email, and I'm gutted. I want to be insulted. I think I'll have to send an insulting email to be insulted back.
June 22, 2006 at 12:59,   Chris said: By the way senad invokes your kind presence in the wild exchange of insulting emails. ciao
June 22, 2006 at 08:07,   Chris said: I know, I know... life is difficult when you are a winner. (lets try to jinks this).... ciao
June 22, 2006 at 00:40,   pedromalard said: bastard!
June 22, 2006 at 00:40,   pedromalard said: Chris is now taking a solid lead!
June 20, 2006 at 18:11,   pedromalard said: You came all the way to the top. You didn't have many wrungs to climb, though. I'll catch up with you after today's games, I think. I got the Poland-Costa Rica result right. Let's see. The best game so far for me was (in terms of result and excitement) Ghana vs Czech Republic. I hope Ghana qualifies second place in the group... they'd go all the way to the semis without facing the big guns. Italy, as luck has it, will probaly get that spot, if only to avoid Brazil in the round of 16.
June 20, 2006 at 08:23,   Chris said: I really enjoyed the SPain -Tunisi game last night.
June 19, 2006 at 08:36,   Chris said: Hey I am in the lead of this fantasy football game. Yahoo
June 19, 2006 at 08:36,   Chris said: I completely agree. The US Vs Italy was strange. Italy did not play at all well in the first half and the US played extremely well. I was watching the game with about 60 other people, so the emotions and cheering really were subjective (how can you blame us). I'm just concerned we might have an interesting face to face in the next round (Brasil-Italy). Lastly, I think that Ronaldo is much the same as Del Piero: they both WERE great players, but are currently living off their reputations and luck. Perhaps I am wrong and they are just waiting to give 100% towards the quaterfinals or the semis.ciao
June 18, 2006 at 20:40,   pedromalard said: Hey, Chris, Italy vs the US was one of the most bizarre games I've ever seen. What was that? Brazil improved a little bit when Ronaldo came off, but Parreira still wants to have him in the start up line. How clever of him.
June 14, 2006 at 20:55,   pedromalard said: Yeah, a draw would have been fair. Ronaldo can hardly move his fat arse around, Adriano touched the ball twice, and the rest of the team did little more than wait for the final whistle. Even France showed more promise. I think Ronaldo will be watching the WC from the subs bench very soon.
June 14, 2006 at 14:57,   Chris said: I think that Croatia and Brasil deserved to tie. The Croatians were in pretty good shape even if there looked pretty tired and the Brasilians were lagging from too much partying :p Robson, if you care to comment.... ciao
June 13, 2006 at 16:44,   pedromalard said: Ghana was a bit of a disappointment. Italy played much better and deserved the win... but there was a clear penalty against Italy that the Brazilian referee didn't spot. The Ivory Coast is the best African team. I just watched Togo, and they're horrible. Let's see how France and Brazil perform today. cheers
June 13, 2006 at 08:30,   Chris said: Well I did get 2 emails: 1 from the tall German Daniel who crtiqued my bitch being too hairy and I also heard from the Swedish Monica, who is now married, lives in a duplex close to Uppsala and now has a baby girl. Getting back to more important things the Italy- Ghana game was really good (for me). THe Italians really played well except for the usual acting. ciao Ciao
June 12, 2006 at 21:18,   pedromalard said: I'm simply horrified with the response we got. Last time we had at least 15 people making predictions. Where are the English, the Swedish, the Germans? Well, they're scared of losing. Chris, I'm not really unemployed. Teaching part time, which means I usually miss the last game of the day. Today I was watching Italy against Ghana and had to go work right after Italy scored.
June 12, 2006 at 08:20,   Chris said: Well, I sent an email to most people I knew from Albany, but did not get much of a response. I'm surprised that Eduardo is not answering the call since he will be in Berlin for the finals, but will not be attending the game. I'll have to hassle him. ciao
June 6, 2006 at 08:46,   Chris said: Hello Pedro, I'm sure you are doing better than me now, since you are still umemployed and enjoying yourself!!! Ok, I'll send and email out to the .de list. I'm sure some sick futboller will answer your call. ciao
June 5, 2006 at 17:01,   pedromalard said: Hey, Chris, good to see you here, mate. Invite other people to join. I don't have everyone's email, and I'm probably not sending everyone the right coordinates. We'll see. How are things, BTW?
