2005 Archive: Fourth round

Shearn turns it round

John Shearn was lying in 239th position after the third round matches, but a performance of psychic proportions saw him ratchet up 42 points for the round, including seven perfect predictions; he ended the round in sixth place. That sets a new all time record as the most points ever scored in a single round of Fantasy FA Cup over the past nine years.

Simon s(t)ays

Simon Baister extended his lead at the top of the table with another impressive score of 38. I can't say it better than to quote Simon from his profile page "Well I suppose this makes up for Norwich's season so far!! That's if I stay top of course, by the way if you want to know, you are all being beaten by someone still at school!".

Hello Mum

Shooting up the table 48 places to occupy second behind Simon is Louise Mayer, without whom there would be no Matthew Mayer, and hence presumably no Fantasy FA Cup. Englishmen and women occupy the first five places, with Americans, Indians and Italians (see right) coming in at the joint sixth position.

Good performances by the Coulson clan ensure Sunderland now top the teams table, followed by QPR; while at the foot of the table are Sheffield Wednesday
