Sunday: Wolfe whistles into joint lead

Alan Wolfe has joined James Whitelock as leader of Fantasy FA Cup 2004. Six points from today's matches took him to 38 points, equalling the highest ever third round score, set five years ago.

The highest scoring match of the day was Arsenal's 4-1 thrashing of Leeds, correctly predicted by Larry Carney, Andrew Asplin, Matt Rolston, Louise Tierney and Scott Bickerton. Andrew moves up to fifth place, as does James Bell who scored 10 out of a possible 12 points from today's matches.

The fourth round entry form will be available on Monday evening

Saturday: There's a Bluebird over

It was a day of mixed fortunes for Cardiff's James Whitelock. His beloved Cardiff City were knocked out of the FA Cup by Sheffield Utd - but he is leading Fantasy FA Cup 2004 after Saturday's third round matches. An amazing nine perfect predictions won him 34 points overall, and he has a good shot at beating David Allen's third round record of 38 points, set way back in 1999.

Englishmen were struggling as the first five places were spread around the rest of the UK and the globe. Ireland's Alan Wolfe is second on 32, an improvement on his 171th ranking last year! Jerome Mc Veigh of Northern Ireland is also second, with Spain's Atletico de Madrid fourth and New Zealand's Nick Gray fifth.

Shockers

Jamie from Sheffield, the 2003 winner had a dire time of it. He made no perfect predictions, picked up just eight points and is currently bottom. Dushal Patel, the 1997 winner is also joint bottom!

More shockers

There were some suprising results in the FA Cup itself - but not all of our entrants were fooled! Non-league Telford beat Crewe 1-0, as predicted by nil one, kobai and dan brown. Watford held Chelsea 2-2, pleasing Andrew Asplin no end. And Caroline Martinez was the only person to predict Gillingham's 3-2 win over Charlton. She's currently 25th.
