Sunday: Maynard keen

David Maynard of Northampton took control of the Fantasy FA Cup leaderboard at the close of the fourth round. A further 12 points from the five Sunday matches took his total to 30 for the round, the second highest fourth round total in Fantasy FA Cup history.

David leaped an impressive 33 places during the round. He now leads John Walker of Panama by three points.

Former leader Andrew Taylor is up to 7th, with Lorna Finnegan also doing well, up from 42nd to 9th on the round.

Hopeless

Chris Thompson had the worst performance of the round by far. He picked up a measly four points, predicting 14 of the 16 matches completely wrong, a feat of arguably some skill. He would have done far better to leave all the results at 0-0!

Saturday: Panama cabal

Fantasy FA Cup has a new leader: John Walker, apparently from Panama! He scored 18 points from today's 11 matches, moving him up from 8th place. The 'new face' in 8th is none other than two-time Fantasy FA Cup winner Andrew Taylor who scored 16 on the day.

Luck of the Irish???

The surprise of the round was the failure of runaway leader Paul Thomas to submit his predictions, meaning he scored a big 'zero' for the round. However, he was previosuly so far in front that he is still in tenth overall!

Northern Irelands's Steven Montgomery moved from 3rd to 2nd while David Maynard of Northampton and Paul Francis of Shipley jumped together from joint 34th to joint 3rd!

From the sublime to the ridiculous

New entrants Marty Keeney and Ross Moorcroft also did well, scoring 16 points each. But there were some diabolical performances too, including Hyde of Finland, Chris Thompson of London and Canada's Chris Hunt, as well as Richard Dulieu of Essex and Steven McElroy. They all scored a pathetic two points.

Psychic?

That's not to say there weren't any impressively accurate predictions! Paul Francis, Wayne Harmes, Lorna Finnegan, Mark O`Leary, Scotty, James Paul and David Park, as well as a certain Matthew Mayer all correctly predicted the mammoth 5-1 win for Arsenal over minnows Farnborough Town.

David Egginton was the only person to predict the 2-0 defeat of Division 1's Coventry City by Rochdale of Division 3.

Made up news

Fictional character Alan Partridge has complained that a entrant of Fantasy FA Cup has entered a fictional entrant under his name. Mr 'Partridge' replied via his profile page: "I am God! Aha!". However he showed his less-than-omnipotency by failing to submit his fourth round predictions. He now lies in 201st place.

Team of the round

Rochdale knocked out First Division Coventry City with a confident 2-0 win at their home ground Spotland. Coventry had had a 10-match unbeaten run before the game but goals from Connor and Griffiths were enough to comfortably take the match.

What was the performance of the round?
