One more day to catch Bunday

Andrew Bunday has just held on to his lead going into the final round of Fantasy FA Cup, but the chasing pack gets ever nearer.

While Andrew picked up 12 points from the two ties on Sunday, a clutch of players led by Mark Pollatos gained 18 points apiece to narrow the gap.

Steve Dalton, Imran Inamdar, Mr Marston, Mr Hopkins and Stewart Spear all improved their chances and moved closer to the top spot.

Further down the table, Lorna Pope, Paul Tester and Helen Fisher also impressed, each gaining 18 points and moving up 11 places.

The all-or-nothing strategies employed by Adam Dunn and Barry Bridges backfired, leaving them with a stunning nil points.

At the foot of the table Mr Apsey had yet another poor round, picking up just six points. He is only kept off the bottom by entrants who have missed one or more rounds.

With one match left to play their are still 17 entrants with a chance of lifting the trophy, so good luck.

They think it's all over...
It is now

Liverpool 2
Wycombe Wanderers 1

The dream is over for Lawrie Sanchez and Wycombe Wanderers. The Second Division outfit tumbled to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Villa Park.

Despite some early flutters, Wycombe gave as good as they got for the best part of 80 minutes with a resilient performance by the defence and keeper Taylor.

There was little Taylor could do about the two goals though. The first was an emphatic myheader by substitute Emile Heskey, the second a beautifully placed free kick by Robbie Fowler.

Wycombe refused to give up and when Ryan lobbed Westerveld with three minutes left to snatch a goal back it looked as if the incoonceivable could still happen - but in the end it was too little, too late.
