Bunday's Sunday Unlikely leader Andrew Bunday has had another excellent weekend. On Sunday he extended his lead to nine points over second-placed Mark Pollatos with 15 points. The best score of the round was by Chris Hanlon, who gathered an impressive 25 points, equalling the sixth round record. He rose an amazing 26 places into 16th place. Rebecca Davis also scored highly, her 20 points lifting her to 20th from 38th. Mr Ritchings, the highest-placed staff entrant, edged up into third place, 11 points off the pace, with David Allen, the 1999 winner two points behind him. At the foot of the table, Mr Apsey continued his run of atrocious performances with a laughable five points from the round. He shares bottom spot with Karan Kent, despite having entered twice as many rounds. Dushal Patel made the best prediction of the round in foreseeing Liverpool's 4-2 win over Tranmere. There are still 44 points available in the remaining two rounds, so there's still all to play for. |
Wycombe lick 'em Leicester City 1 Roy Essandoh spotted an appeal on the Wycombe Wanderers website for a striker and was offered a two-week contract. The previously unknown 25-year-old will now live on in Cup folklore after his dramatic injury-time winner sent Wycombe Wanderers to the Cup semi-finals at the expense of Leicester City. Wycombe shocked City when Paul McCarthy gave them a seond half lead. Although Muzzy Izzet equalised for Leicester, Essandoh sent the Wycombe fans into ecstasy when he headed home from close range. Wycombe manager Lawrie Sanchez was 'sent off' after a denied penalty appeal, as was midfielder Steve Brown for removing his shirt. It was all academic in the end - Wycombe make the semis. |
