Fun Day for Bunday

You might be mistaken for thinking the leaderboard inside this issue has been printed upside-down - but no, Andrew Bunday really is in first place. Despite having collected the wooden spoon for the past three years, his 26 points fron the 14 ties played so far were enough to secure him the top spot ahead of Andrew Taylor and Steve Dalton.

Other high scorers of the round were Rachel Pennell, whose 20 points moved her up 20 places to 17th, and Mark Pollatos, who moved into 4th. Mr Ritchings remains top of the teachers in 5th, while youngest entrant Aakarsh Patel is also doing well in joint 9th.

It was a poor round in the points department for most entrants, some failing to reach double figures. Particular worthy of derision were Lorna Pope and Med Haynes, both scoring a useless six.

However, with four rounds still to play there's plenty of time to catch up, so don't delay and hand in your 5th round entry form soon!

Rovers Return

Everton 0
Tranmere Rovers 3

Tranmere Rovers of the First Division reached the fifth round of the Cup for the second year in a row after humiliating their local Premiership rivals Everton.

John Aldridge's side made nonsense of their lowly league position and struck Everton with two first half goals from Steve Yates and youngster Jason Koumas. It was no more than Tranmere deserved when Yates added a third after the interval.

Everton's expensive stars were a shambles from the start and Tranmere always looked the more professional outfit. Tranmere are away to Southampton in the fifth round.
