Darrel dazzles again

Darrel Bryant, the winner of Fantasy World Cup 1998, has taken the lead in this year‘s Fantasy FA Cup competition, after all the fifth round ties had been completed.

His 21 points took him to a total of 66 points, two ahead of Andrew Taylor and five ahead of Priyesh Patel, the previous joint leaders.

David Allen, Paul Tester and Mr Street matched Darrel‘s tally for the round.

It was a good round for the staff entrants, with Mr Street, Mr Lavis, Mr Marston and Mr Langford all on the rise. Only Mr Hopkins and Mr Cantor fell back.

Mr Street climbed the most places during the 5th round, up 14 places to 9th.

Going the other way was Barry Bridges, whose low-scoring performance dropped him 8 places to 17th.

Bad Saturday for Wednesday

Gillingham	3
Sheffield Wed 1

Second division Gillingham reached the sixth round for the first time in their history after a comprehensive victory over Premiership Sheffield Wednesday.

Wednesday took the lead thanks to a scrambled own goal in the 15th minute, but Gillingham refused to panic, sticking to a tidy passing gane.

On 70 minutes, Gillingham scored what was to be the first of three goals in just 12 minutes, when Saunders fired home a cross from Thompson, Thomson himself headed home a free kick to make it two, and Nicky Southall‘s memorable 30-yard shot wrapped up the match.
