Priyesh powers to pole position

Priyesh Patel, of 6.98 has swept into the lead of FFAC2000 with an excellent 24 points from the 15 games played so far.

With just one result to come, Andrew Taylor and Manzor Khan are two points behind Priyesh‘s tally of 47, with 45 apiece. Manzor‘s crude but effective tactic of predicting 1-0 home wins for every match so far seems to be paying off.

Meanwhile, Barry Bridges failed to capitalise on a strong finish to the 3rd round, dropping to 8th.

There were some impressive moves up and down the table since the 3rd round. Darrel Bryant rose 10 places into 4th, Mr Marston gained 17 places to 9th and Stewart Spear rose 18 places to 14th.

By far the worst performance of the round was Richard Mann‘s appalling score of 6 from the round. He is in fact level on points with Amad Ali, who didn‘t manage to hand in his 4th round form!

Jewel Kewell is Maine scorer

Manchester City 2
Leeds United 5

A thrilling match at Maine Road with seven goals between the two teams highlighted the quality of this year‘s competition.

Twice in the match Manchester City led, with goals from Shaun Goater and Ian Bishop, before Leeds began to justify their position at the top of the Premiership. Goals from Bakke and Smith returned things to level pegging, before Leeds began to pull away.

Kewell bagged a further two goals and Bowyer one to emphasise Leeds‘ superiority. If it hadn‘t been for some desperate tackles and a sequence of excellent blocks by Weaver, it could easily have been more.
