Dan chalks up early lead

Daniel Bristow, of 6.84, has taken the early lead in this year‘s Fantasy FA Cup competition, with just 3 third round ties remaining.

Dan benefited from several all correct predictions including Birmingham City‘s 1-0 away win at Watford.

Just 2 points behind Daniel‘s tally of 23 are Mr Taylor and Mark Farmer.

Last year‘s winner, David Allen, is currently mid-table in joint 15th place.

The 1997 winner, Dushal Patel is not yet proving his form this year: he is currently in last place with just 10 points from the 29 matches.

Of the staff entrants, the Geography department currently seem to be doing the best, in 2nd, 4th and 11th places.

By contrast, neither of the Maths department‘s two representatives, Mr Cantor and Mr Marston, seemed able to get their sums to add up: they are currently in joint 19th and 29th positions.

Leicester outfoxed by Hereford

Hereford Utd 0
Leicester City 0

Non-league Hereford almost experienced the glory days of 1972 all over again. Then Ronnie Radford‘s celebrated goal knocked out Newcastle United. This time, Leicester City were the opponents and Hereford were unlucky not to go through again.

City took charge early on, Muzzy Izzet forcing a fine save from Hereford‘s Mark Jones.

After half-time, Hereford began to fight back. Their best chance was from Paul Parry, who made a brilliant run and was desperately unlucky when his shot ricocheted the wrong side of the post.

A valuable replay for Hereford now beckons.
