He's Taylor made for success

Andrew Taylor, of 11.41, has established a commanding lead at the top of the Fantasy FA Cup leaderboard. Six points from the round saw him reach 102 points, eight clear of long-time leader David Allen (11.64).

A generally low-scoring round, with many participants failing to score meant that certain entrants made some impressive leaps up the table.

Three people scored 12 points for the round: Richard Mann moved up 6 places to 10th, while Mr Hopkins moved up 7 places into 3rd to challenge for the lead. The biggest leap however was by Philip Wallace, moving up 15 places to 7th.

Six points apiece for Adam Dunn and Mr Cantor secured them fourth and fifth place respectively. The other players who scored 6 points for the round were Katie Smith, Niroshan Chandramohan, Ross Pavitt, Karan Kent, Gary Hatton and Sam O'Hara.

There was little change at the foot of the table, however, with the bottom six all failing to score!

Spurs pay penalty as Magpies swoop

Newcastle Utd 2
Tottenham Hotspur 0

Only the magic of Alan Shearer could stop the afternoon's FA Cup semi- finals from being barren of goals. Newcastle's win, however, was by no means devoid of controversy,

In the 58th minute, Newcastle's Dabizas rose to handle the ball from a free- kick. It seemed that everyone in the stadium saw the incident except referee Paul Durkin.

The penalty the referee did spot came in extra time, in the 108th minute. Ironically, it was another handball, this time by Campbell. Shearer sent Walker the wrong way from the penalty spot to finally open the scoring.

In the 118th minute, Shearer then put paid to Spurs' hopes with a glorious long- range strike into the corner of the net.
