Dan chalks up second place

Daniel Bristow (11.81) has moved into second place along with Andrew Taylor in Fantasy FA Cup 1999. They were amongst seven entrants to pick up fifteen points from the three ties played over the weekend.

Leader David Allen scored just ten points together with the majority of other entrants, to leave him three points ahead of the chasing pack.

Jon Taylor has had the biggest leap upwards since the last table, with his 15 points lifting him nine places up to 14th.

By contrast, Mr Langford slipped down the table from 10th to 18th after scoring just 5 points in the round.

The Barnsley versus Spurs match, postponed at the weekend, is now being played next week, so the table overleaf shows only the three ties played so far.

The top five's predictions for this game are as follows:

David Allen 1-3
Andrew Taylor 0-1
Daniel Bristow 0-2
Marcus Bennett 0-2
Adam Dunn 0-2
Ruud awakening for Everton

Newcastle Utd 0
Everton 1

Last year's finallists Newcastle Utd moved into the semi-finals again with a convincing 4-1 victory over the Toffeemen.

Temuri Ketsbaia opened the scoring with a deflected thirty-yard drive. A superb shot from David Unsworth brought Everton level early in the second half, but a scrambled goal from Geordiadis, after a free- kick was parried by Everton's goalie, restored Newcastle's lead.

A second from Ketsbaia and a goal from captain Alan Shearer brought joy to manager Ruud Gullit.
