David still up for the cup

David Allen, of 11.64, has extended his lead in Fantasy FA Cup 1998 after all but one of the 4th round ties had taken place.

The highest scorer of the round however was Stephen Playford, who picked up 30 points, which lifted him from 27th to 9th place, a magnificent leap.

Moving up into second place behind David is Duhsal Patel, winner of Fantasy FA Cup 1997.

Mr Cantor, maintaining his position in 9th place, is still the leading staff entrant, although Mr Taylor is now just 1 point behind him.

At the foot of the table, Chris Daniels moves up to 30th place, while new entrants Andrew Bunday and Robert Smith have yet to make much impression.

The worst performance of the round, however, blonged to Sam O'Hara, who picked up a measly 10 points from the 15 ties, falling to 27th place.

With four rounds to come, there's still plenty to play for.

Fulham triumph in Villa thriller

Aston Villa 0
Fulham 2

Second-division Fulham suprised Premiership pace-setters Aston Villa with a spirited 2-0 victory at Villa Park.

Fulham took the lead as early as the 7th minute, when Simon Morgan met a Hayward corner, heading the ball beyond Michael Oakes.

Villa failed to heed the warning and Fulham extended their lead two minutes before half-time through a deflected 20yard free kick from Hayward.

Despite second half pressure, Villa failed to make any impression on a solid Fulham defence. Fulham's reward is a fifth round tie at Old Trafford.
