everything to play for ... It was all change at the top of the Fantasy FA Cup leaderboard after the semi-final ties had been played out. Ryan Keogh was caught up by Stephen Playford (10.51), after Stephen picked up 18 points from the two ties. Mr Hopkins was relegated into third place. However the round's top performers were Andrew Taylor and Richard Mann, who both scored a maximum 24 points. Andrew is now in joint 3rd place and in an excellent position to challenge the leaders. Mr Cantor's rather hopeful predictions failed to materialise dropping him seven places into 18th. While the fight for the top spots continues, the winner of the wooden spoon is virtually certain already. Andrew Bunday had another terrible round, scoring nil points. He is now some 13 points adrift! |
Shearer makes
it certain Newcastle Utd
1 It was the day when romance left the Cup and was taken over by power and brute force. During the first half, despite relentless pressure, the Sheffield side defended with great determination, and it seemed that Newcastle would never score. Perhaps it was unsurprising therefore that Newcastle's £15 million striker Alan Shearer was the one who finally hit the back of the net. 16 minutes into the second half, he picked up a cross from Pearce and drove it towards the back post. Kelly could only parry the strike and Shearer went in for the kill. A hard-fought match, and a cruel way for Sheffield to go out. Newcastle face Arsenal in what should be a classic Cup Final. |
