saw, he conquered Mr Hopkins has finally taken the overall lead of Fantasy FA Cup 1998 after all the fifth round ties had been played. He picked up 21 points from the eight fixtures, including totally correct predictions of the draws of West Ham-Blackburn and Wimbledon-Wolves Moving up into second place, and just three points behind is Ryan Keogh (10.71), who evidently decided to make some sensible predictions for once! Also going well is Stephen Playford (10.51) who scored 21 points for the round, moving him up six places into fourth. Stephen Dalton and Robert Smith, leading after the fourth round, had rather poorer scores, emerging in fifth and sixth respectively. Andrew Taylor managed to lift himself off the foot of the table with a score of 18 for the round. He is replaced by his namesake Andrew Bunday. The two Sunday matches caught all the competitors out, with not a single point being scored. |
Gunners fail
to storm the Palace Arsenal
0 Two controversial disallowed penalties were the highlight of this dull goalless draw. Palace believed they should have been awarded a penalty when Alex Manninger (in for the injured David Seaman) brought down Jamie Fullarton. Arsenal thought likewise when Steven Hughes was tripped in the area by Andy Roberts, but in both cases, referee Martin Bodenham turned a blind eye. Marc Overmars had several chances, but was denied by the efforts of Palace keeper Kevin Miller. |
