David takes lead as ties are hit by bad weather

David Allen, of 10.64, has taken the lead of Fantasy FA Cup 1998 after the majority of the 3rd round ties had taken place. The six remaining ties will be taken into account when calculating the final scores.

David took the lead after correctly predicting Tottenham's 3-1 win over Fulham on Monday night. However second-placed Mr Hopkins is just 2 points behind and looks to be a sure contender for the honours in later rounds.

Meanwhile, last year's champion Dushal Patel is languishing down in joint 11th place. The complete table is detailed inside.

Some of the predictions made also varied in accuracy. Jawad Akhtar of 10.81 correctly predicted Leeds' 4-0 victory over Oxford.

Ryan Keogh meanwhile was expecting a 6000-1 victory for Arsenal over Port Vale. The score at full time was a rather thrilling 0-0.

Chelsea 3
Manchester Utd 5

There were goals galore as Manchester United triumphed over Chelsea in an exciting match at Stamford Bridge.

Beckham opened the scoring for United in the 23rd minute. He followed this goal up with another, from a superbly taken free-kick just 5 minutes later. By the time Cole (2) and Sheringham had slotted another three past keeper De Goey, Chelsea had almost given up hope.

However three consolation goals courtesy of Le Saux and Vialli (2) gave the Chelsea fans something to cheer about.
